‘Helen & Kim’ are a two-headed director comprising of Helen J. Raine and Kim Hinrichs.

Having won numerous accolades across the advertising award shows, the duo have established themselves as versatile and emotive filmmakers and have expanded their focus to include narrative filmmaking.

They are strong storytellers and intuitive performance directors, taking pride in working with cast to craft nuanced and authentic performance for camera. Visually, the pair has a stylistic approach, working to carefully balance narrative and aesthetic.

In 2017, they were awarded a Pencil in the Creativity for Good category at the D&AD Professional Awards in London, and Helen was featured as one of Mail and Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans.

Helen & Kim recently released their short film, ‘Boni & Wes, A True Love Story’, which was awarded the Grand Prix at Ciclope Africa, and selected for the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand film festival in France.
